Welcome to the last newsletter of September.
Over the weekend, I had the opportunity of witnessing 2 sets of friendships that opened my eyes to the fact that some friendships are indeed a store of value or source of wealth.
Last Friday, Roger Federer played his last tennis match alongside his great rival turned friend – Rafa Nadal. For me and several others, that wasn’t the only story.
The major story was the display of emotions and connection between these men. It became clear to people that their friendship had transcended beyond tennis and it showed.
For me, it was not only about the sport but about having someone in your corner (other than a spouse or partner) that you can afford to be vulnerable with and who isn’t threatened by your success or otherwise.
The second friendship is the one I witnessed during the recently concluded Smart Stewards Summit between Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze and Nelly Agbogu. From their session, I learnt and appreciated the fact that friendships can be intentional, mutually beneficial and profitable for both parties.
Overall, this weekend made me appreciate my friends and also made me desirous of more. Like King Solomon said centuries ago, “People learn from one another, just as iron sharpens iron”.
I will recommend that you not only watch or listen to a replay of their session but that you take special note of Chioma’s closing remarks.
The 2022 Smart stewards Summit was a huge success because of you. Thank you for making it such a colourful and successful one!
I hope that attending the sessions at the Smart Stewards Summit 7.0 has been worth your while.

Till next week, here’s wishing you an outstanding October in advance.
